Caitlin Harvey

Founder/Facilitator

I have loved nature and outdoor play all my life, with a special interest in the animals who live in the wild. I began my career in health care and worked in community health for close to a decade. After having my son, I re-discovered a love of working with children, having worked as a swimming instructor and camp counsellor as a teen and young adult. I returned to school and completed my Early Childhood Education diploma. During my ECE program I learned about Forest and Nature School and fell in love with the principles and pedagogy. I am currently completing my Forest School Practitioner’s Certification.

My family and I fell in love with this property and its potential to offer nature-based programs, so we made the move to Komoka with Wildwood Forest and Nature Early Learning in mind.

Graeme Harvey

Property Manager & occasional support facilitator

Graeme works full time as the Director of Engineering for a Canadian reforestation company. When not working his main job, you can find Graeme trimming trees, maintaining the trails, building chicken coops and dreaming up new play ideas.

  • Emmy & Myles

    Emmy (Nature Baby Extraordinaire)

    Emmy is a nature baby and has been growing up roaming the fields and trails at Wildwood since 4 months old. She loves to investigate all things and will happily show you all her best finds. Emmy assists Caitlin with most programs.

    Myles (Assistant Property Manager/Nature Child)

    Myles was my inspiration for Wildwood and a true nature lover. He has explored everywhere he can get to on the property and would happily climb into the places we have yet to explore. Happiest outside, when not in school, Myles can be spotted driving his side-by-side, climbing trees, planting in the garden or digging in the sand.

  • Dante

    Program companion

    Dante is our older dog, a rescue from California. We believe he was a farm pup in his youth who ended up on the streets of San Francisco. Graeme adopted Dante in 2018 while working in San Francisco. Dante is our trail expert and knows his way around the property without human help. Dante is a very gentle soul and is loved even by people who are usually afraid of dogs.

  • Breeze

    Program companion and herding

    Breeze is a young pup, a rescue from Manitoba. Breeze is half border collie and does keep an eye on where everyone is. Breeze loves people, especially children and will happily play with anyone who will throw a ball. Part of Breeze’s job is to keep our children safe and she is being trained to alert if children wander towards the trails on their own.
